W&F Council Traffic Announcement

We would like to inform you that from the 13th of January 2025 a HGV ban will come into force as part of the A595 Grizebeck Improvement Project.

The ban is required and has been applied for by our contractors due to:

•         Increased traffic through the village causing congestion and delays.

•         Significant increases in construction traffic (HGV) which will worsen the problem.

•         Increased construction staff on site and H&S risk associated with HGV movements due to narrow widths and poor visibility.

•         Lack of stacking and passing space when TM is required.

The HGV ban will be in place along the A595 from the North of Grizebeck to School Road, Kirkby in Furness.  Information on the diversion can be found on One.Network:
