Operation Enhance
Cumbria Police’s “Operation Enhance” focuses on reducing anti-social behaviour (ASB) and serious violence through increased patrols in 18 identified hotspots. The operation, funded by £1 million from the Government’s Hotspot Response Fund, has led to 490 hours of additional patrols, 85 stop and searches, 257 intelligence submissions, and 22 arrests within two months. ASB has dropped by 36.6%, and serious violence by 14.3% in these areas. The initiative also helps locate missing persons and address local concerns.
